In a bid to ensure the City of Eldoret remains clean, the Business Community through their Corporate Social Responsibility have given a boost to the City’s cleaning strategy.
While receiving the donation from Dadu Hardware, County Executive Member for Lands, Housing and Urban Development Edward Sawe, appreciated the positive gesture by Dadu Hardware in supporting the County Government’s agenda.
“We commend the selflessness shown by Dadu (hardware) in our city starting from the protection of our ornamental trees planted during the City Conferment and now the City Cleanliness,” said the CEC Member
“Dadu Hardware has been our partner for a while now, this shows the good working relationship between the County Government and the Business Community,” added Julius Kitur, the City Board Chairman.
On his part, Chief Officer Koech called upon other businesses Community Partners and stakeholders to embrace the partnership with the County to enable grow the new City.
”Eldoret is the New City in Kenya and we have to hold hands together as a County Government and the Business Partners and the Community at large to see our City matches world-class standards,” said CO Julius Koech.
“ it is through such partnerships that every aspect of our City will flourish, if today Dadu supports the cleaning part and another partner takes the painting part and another business entity decides to support the greening aspect, we shall see our city Competing with other cities of the World,” added Koech.
The City of Eldoret is mandated to keep the Town Clean and manage the green spaces within the Central Business District. The City staff wakes up in the wee hours of the night to sweep the streets on a daily basis and collect the solid waste to a designated spot where it is collected by City Lorries for Dumping at the Kipkenyo Dumpsite.
