In a bid to address the increase in population growth in Eldoret, the City Manager, Tito Koiyet, oversaw the operations at the Kipkenyo Dumpsite on Monday afternoon with an aim to create more space to handle the increasing solid waste generated by the city.
Describing Eldoret as the fifth city in Kenya and the fastest-growing city in East Africa, Koiyet emphasized the need for infrastructure expansion to keep pace with the expanding population.
To facilitate this expansion, three long-arm excavators, one short-arm excavator, and a dozer were deployed to open up additional space within the dump site.
