County Chief Officer for Urban Development, Julius Koech and his Environment counterpart Mark Some on Tuesday held discussions with the city and environment staff on how to enhance town cleanliness.
During the meeting held at the City Headquarters in the West area, Mr Koech emphasized the need for punctuality and maximum production by city staff.
“ We have seen tremendous progress in keeping our City Clean but we still have room for more improvement. That can be achieved if we all attend to our areas and make our presence proud,” said CO Koech.
On his part, Mr. Some encouraged the Public Health officials to be proactive in their assignments and urged the environment officers at the City to ensure the Parks and the Arboretum are well maintained.
”The arboretum is being worked on to keep our grasses low and make it a safe place where families can enjoy especially over the weekend, it is our responsibility to maintain the place for the public to utilize it,” said Mr Some.
Later after the meeting at the City, the Chief Officers proceeded to Kipkenyo Dampsite where an ongoing upgrade and improvement of the landfill is happening.
Speaking at the Dampsite, the Area Member of County Assembly David Letting thanked the County Government for the good progress saying it will help his electorate who most of the time face road blockages due to Dumping by the road when the site is full.
